Jaffey Welfare Trust

Chain of events from the start of this noble thought till date is summarised for ready reference:

1979 : Jaffery Madressa was started at residence of Late Mr. Jafferali H. Panjwani

1981 : Jaffery Madressa grew and knocked the doors of Haji Nazarali Imambada, Kurla - Mumbai to start a full fledged Madressa for both Boys and Girls.

1982 : The Number of Students increase to 170.

1983 : Jaffery Madressa started distributing Eid-Clothes to students of Madressa as majority of Students are from Lower Middle class and poor.

1983 : In order to boost the morale of the students, The Trust started distributing Gifts to the students every year (17th Rabbil Awwal) on the occasion of Wiladat of our Beloved Prophet (s.a.w.w) so as to give them a support to their families by providing items of daily need

1985 : Trust co-ordinated for Majalis during the Month of Moharram and by the grace of Almighty Trust manged to start the Majalis every year at 9.00 PM for 40 days of Muharram at Haji Nazarali Imambada, Kurla - Mumbai.

1987 : As no proper syllabus was available for teaching the Aqa'ed, Jaffery Madressa took the initative and made their initial syllabus for the same.
It was properly organized to work for 6 days for approx an hour of time (Monday to Saturday)
The same days were distributed in two parts on a alternative basis between Quran & Aq'aed as below:

• Theree (3) days (Mon, Wed, Fri) the Teaching of Holy Quran.
• Three (3) days (Tue, Thu, Sat) the Teaching of Aq'ed.

1990 : The growth of the Jaffery Madressa on new fronts, both within the educational structure and in Religious knowledge.

• The Jaffery Madressa introduced incentive for students and started helping them by distributing school books inorder to boost their morale.
• Seminars to improve teaching and communication skills. Not only were these new pursuits of educational value, but also promoted community participation in many extra-curricular activities.
• The Jaffery Madressa teaching syllabus also underwent a comprehensive revision in the subjects taught i.e. of Tareekh, Fiqh, Akhlaq Aqaayad and Holy Qur’an, which still remain at the core of the Jaffery Madressa system today. The teaching material is constantly being revised to keep it up to date, and new teaching methods have already been introduced.

1991 : Trust Started distributing of Rations to Poor, Needy and Widows families. As of now 45 families are being provided with rations every month.

1995 : Various religious activities started by Trust. Picnic for Students, Felicitation on being in merit to madressa students.

2000 : Trust started computer classes for community people in the name of JAFFERY COMPUTER ACADEMY. Many of community students who were not able to afford the high fees of computer classes were benefited by this academy.

2001 : Other religious programs/Functions started during Month of Rajab, M.Shaban and M. Ramazan.Two grand function were introducted for every year in view of below occassions:

• 15th Shaban
• 9th Rabill Awaal

2002 : During the month of Holy Ramazan Trust co-ordinated to start Iftar for Madressa Students and to the people at large.

2004 : Trust started sponsoring students for Education purpose. by way of

• Distributing start up kits to students like School Bag, Books, Shoes and other stationary required by the students for Educations purposes. Every year Trust sponsors about 200-250 students.
• Also Felicitation of all Childrens of Shia Ishna Ashari community in Kurla (from pre-primary to Higer Secondary ) who scored more than 75%. We were able to felicate almost 35 (inclunding boys & girls)

2005: As the number of studenst grew more & more it was a time to organize the Jaffery Madressa in a sytamatic manner.

• Trust fromed a Madressa in a diffrent sections according to the level of studenst and each group was been tarined by a unique Teacher.
• As we Madressa was in shrot of a Faculty due to more sections of students, Trust decided to hire a scholars for students for imparting valuable knowledge in a better way.

2008 :

• Trusrt had co-ordinated with the www.madressa.net UK for compling the syallbus as per the need of the Jaffery madressa. The same syallbus work is under construction and Inshallah very soon the same will be implemented for teaching the students.
• It started it's own website as Trust believes in transparency & it decided to communicate the information about all their activities and projects in a comprehensible manner through this website. Also, the website creates a patent image across the Globe and give everyones an opportunity for all to participate in this noble cause.

The Jaffery Madressa is pride of the community and a tribute to the vision and foresight of those who saw its usefulness all those years ago. May Allah bless all those who have given their time and effort, both in the past and present, to help in imparting knowledge about His religion to our children.
